Minascan Rewards Calculator
Learn how to use our rewards calculator.
Overview
Our Rewards Calculator estimates how much profit you would gain over the selected epoch if you sent your tokens to the staking providers from the table below. This is not a forecast but an estimation based on the profit data from the previous epoch. The calculator answers the question: "What if I staked a certain amount to different staking providers?" and provides a statistical layout on the rewards paid and related parameters.
Using this calculator, you can answer the following questions:
- How can I estimate validator performance in the long run?
- What can the actual deviation of the expected rewards be (considering that the block winner nomination algorithm is random and opaque due to the Mina Consensus mechanism)?
- Does it make any difference whether the staked funds are locked or unlocked when getting rewards?
- What is the principal difference between regular and supercharged rewards?
By providing a comprehensive benchmark, the rewards calculator allows you to make a well-weighted staking decision.
How to use
- Enter the amount of Mina funds you want to stake in the Stake entry line.
Configure your calculation.
2.1. Select the estimated epoch.
An epoch lasts for ~14 days 21 hours (an epoch is a unit of time divided into slots of 3 minutes each and contains 7140 slots at Mainnet). The calculator estimates data as of the end of the selected epoch. The rewards are counted proportionately to the blocks produced if the present epoch is chosen. Since they are made with a certain amount of randomness, there may be disproportionate results at the end of the epoch.
2.2 Select Gross or Net option.
Gross means that the calculator will calculate your rewards without deducting a validator's fee; Net means that the calculator will calculate your rewards minus the validator fee.
2.3 Select Locked or Fully Unlocked option.
- Select Locked if your account has locked tokens that you want to delegate.
- Select Fully Unlocked if your account has only unlocked funds.
To check if your account is locked or unlocked, go to Account Details. If you see a Time Locks block in the parameter list, you have locked funds on your account; otherwise, your account is unlocked. Setting this parameter is critical since it affects the result of the rewards calculation (delegators with fully unlocked balances receive supercharged rewards).
- See the calculation result.
The calculated rewards over the selected epoch will be displayed in the Stake Rewards column.
