How to Stake Mina
A guide on how to stake and unstake Mina.
Staking is a way to earn a profit on the Mina blockchain. You can delegate your Mina tokens to a validator if you don't run a node.
To stake on Mina, follow these steps:
- Go to our Leaderboard.
- Select the validator you want to stake with.
- Click the Stake button.
- Now, you need to connect your wallet. Select the wallet you want to connect.
- Click the Connect button.
- In the popup window, select the validator you want to stake with.
- Select the transaction mode: Slow, Default, or Fast. Enter the transaction fee. Enter the other fields, as needed. Click the Next button.
- Confirm your transaction by clicking the Confirm button.
- Please read carefully the transaction details and confirm them by clicking the Confirm button.
After you confirm the transaction, you can’t revert it. Read through your transaction details carefully!
The Mina protocol doesn’t regulate the validator-delegator relationship, and delegators have to rely on validators to show integrity. Make sure you do your own research before you opt in delegating!
- View transaction details.
Your staking transaction will become active within 2 epochs (up to 1 month) due to the ledger design on Mina. As soon as your delegation gets in the staking ledger, you start receiving staking rewards each epoch. Respectively, when you redelegate or stake to yourself, the new staking arrangements will be effective within 2 weeks after you run a new staking transaction.
